I think the ASX shit the bed because Australia is realising we will be the last to drop rates. I would imagine that there's more offshore money still looking to position in Australia for the bull run on precious metals, but I know that my risky precious metals portfolio stood up bloody well today compared to portfolios not so keen on precious
Also sounds like the USA might end up reducing rates slower than perhaps anticipated. Net result for gold and silver will still be positive, I think. Dropping faster and sooner would likely see sharper rises in PM sooner but I'd worry it would also spell nasty corrections along the way.
