if all shareholders participate in the rights issue, then no one gets diluted. That's the key. If you want the cash, then you simply participate and then sell your proportionate shares. That will still be far more tax effective than if HVN increased the payout and canned the rights issue.
Do you really think Gerry would be doing this if it wasn't in shareholder's interests (he's the largest shareholder)?
