Imagine connecting ordinary 1.5V batteries where use serial connection to raise the voltage, then parallel to raise the amperage.
Some cumulative risk as more cells damaged so reducing power output.
Greatest risk if break circuit lines where accumulative power output from each cell is gathered then sent further.
