Have you sent your unwanted car to the Auction recently.
I sent mine to a popular Online Auction last week for a seller's fee of $650. I signed the 5 page fine print contract ...no worries.....when sold it will only cost me $650 and for a $10K auction price car, that's fait enough....eh?
But once listed I discovered that there was a 20% buyers fee tacked-on and for a $10K car that meant a total auction commission of $2650.
This, IMO, should contravene the law of agency because by definition the Auction House was my sales agent and should have only acted for and being paid for by me.
Given that the buyer paid the auction house over 3 times what I paid the Auction house for the sale, can it be fairly said that the Auction house acted on my behalf:
The washout
Buyer paid $12K for my car I got $9350 for my car The Auction house pocketed $2650 for the sale.
I guess, in this case, its "let the seller be aware"
