My only ever attempt at a muscle car was a '60s V8 Falcon, four on the floor with the "Get Stuffed" stripes.

And it was a beautiful "mulberry" colour. (What a crappy Yanky spell checker... can't spell!) Trouble was, it was only just faster than my Mazda Capella, the clutch was clap and the once lovely colour (there it is again) faded to a (racial adjective deleted) purple.

After a few years it looked like "Delta Dawn" and I gave it to my son who painted it yellow. Didn't matter. The rust killed it. (Never sleeps!)

In spite of what Towie says, both the original paint and any resprays needed have improved greatly but I scraped Mrs H's "champagne" coloured door. The repairer did a good match and coloured the whole side, but from the wrong angle, the respray is noticeable.

Moral of the story: Cars don't stay new but if you choose colour and style carefully, you won't feel a need to trade it in in a hurry.

BTW Mrs H's car before this was a silver late '80's Honda Integra and it still looked schmick when we sold it abt 12 yrs old. We kept that car longer than any other (current Accord may outdo it) so I vote for style and colour!!!
