Me - Always Less driving and mOre "coasting" in Neutral gear ..:)

Each to their own but I would never put my car into neutral and I doubt any advanced driving instructor would advise it.

My No. 1 tip would be to keep your eyes as far down the road as possible, trying to predict what's likely to occur and that would be fully endorsed by said driving instructor. My brake pads last years but I use dynamic braking [ie NOT changing into angel's gear] I have stopped using cruise control too. If you see a car on the side of a country road you automatically lift [looking far down the road]. The speed control won't and that could cause a heavy fine.

Beside I reckon I can drive "better" than the cruise control anyway. It is constantly accelerating and decelerating on slight inclines. I stay steady and allow the speed to vary a little.
