    I thinking that would be the case with smaller engines, I only get that acceleration on big inclines and on declines it feels like it just coasts and power kicks back in when the set speed is set.

    On a long drive cruise control allows you to maintain a speed without looking at the speedo and assuming you set it no higher than the speed limit you don't get done for doing a few KMH over the limit without realising.

    "I am sure many with cruise control fitted have enjoyed the exhilaration as the car rockets over a hill because the cruise has still got the throttle wide open!"

    Not sure about that, planting the foot on the accelerator does it for me. Love the sound of the Turbo kicking in.
