There is more vacuum at idle than when driving. You cant be old enough to remember the vacuum wipers on early Holdens. They only worked when you were stopped at the lights.
Hyundai now has electric power steering and hybrids still have everything functioning [incl aircon] when the motor is switched off. It's the way of the future.
If you think about it, electric aircon compressors should last longer because of the fixed op speed. On a standard car the compressor can be asked to run at ten times what it does at idle if you are a rev-head. Can't be good for them.
