Unfortunately, I missed the CCS part of Lateline, but because you mentioned ZeroGen, I have recently emailed and phoned the QLD Govt. to find out why they abandoned the project, but have to "wait 4-6 weeks" for an official reply.
As was reported in the Courier Mail, the Resources Minister, ... Ferguson, was disappointed in the QLD Govt.'s decision to scrap it after spending millions of dollars on it, but I suspect vested interests like the CSG producers and the cheaper cost of gas fired power plants compared to CCS with coal as the energy source.

And I suspect that is also the reason for UCG having a hard time in QLD, the CSG producers, ... because it makes too much common sense to produce energy from UCG, in the appropriate location, ... with all its advantages over CSG/CSM.
