Australian businesses are doing it tough enough already, especially with respect to our manufacturing sector and those that rely on exporting goods. Our dollar is at RECORD HIGH post float levels. So why is it that at a time when the ability of Australian businesses to compete internationally is WEAKEST, our government seeks to intervene to make matters WORSE?? We should be imposing measures to protect sectors most vulnerable to our record terms of trade rather than bludgeoning them to death with a carbon tax. This government is ENTIRELY OUT OF TOUCH!
This tax is a cash grab to redistribute wealth and give Swan billions of dollars to splash around next election in a desperate bid to stay in power with utterly no regard for the well being of all Australians.
