carbon footprints, brainwashing and blah blah

In this crazy merry-go-round of Gillard's constant seeking for self-serving personal adulation and self-promotion (and striving to look like an actual objective Prime Minister - which I always thought was the realm of someone actually governing for ALL the people), we had the following hypocritical and cowardly scenario.

As she no longer ventures into shopping malls (wearing out shoe leather was her aim, she said) after encountering a fierce older woman who looked her in the eye and called her "liar", Gillard gathered up her sycophants (read Cabinet) and flew them all down to Werribee - perhaps appropriate as it is the sewerage processing territory of greater Melbourne!

For a "Community Cabinet Meeting" - open to the public. Who had to be pre-screened - and pre-registered- otherwise not allowed in. This right slap bang in the middle of Gillard's own electorate! Nothing too brave about this one.

The audience were all appropriately "thrilled". They applauded madly when she walked in. Not one hard question was asked. They were all staged Dorothy Dixers! Accordig to the audience, the Carbon Tax is marvelous, and they all loved it!

One Australian lady, in hijab, thanked Gillard most sincerely for "ending" ten years of the "fear-mongering" she'd had to put up with. (It was never explained just what fear-ongering this was!!)

At the end of this love-in, more enthusiatic applause. The local boy scouts troop meanwhile, were refused shelter from the pelting rain under the eaves outside this event, to which they were refused admission. They would have earned citizenship badges had they been allowed in to listen.

It's laughable how such staged events can be portrayed as
this PM's "popularity". And of course it will be only the first of many such events over the next two years, when Labor hope our memories are short, and we are. by election time, honed in to other things.

As for all those plane journeys, and the "carbon footprints", and the costs overall, who cares?

Keep Julia away from any questioning, keep her making predictable speeches by rote, (she now has an ex-Tony Blair speech writer don't forget), keep her safe on Q&A, 7.30 report, ABC radio and TV generally, and out of the malls - looking stateswoman like (Obama will be here for her to hug soon!). Keep doing this for the next two years, and by this time we'll be seeing her in the light of a new "Princess Diana" - she'll have some thiking she's the new "Queen of Hearts." Demure, smiling, and "luverly!"

The Scams and stuffed policies have been out away in the drawer. And the big bluff has begun. Now begins the next "let's blouff them" phase. Hand out enough bribes - and the next election's in the bag! She's betting on all of us forgetting our white hot anger and angst, and that the old Aussie easy-goingness will work in her favor.

The sheep who are the Labor MP's who caved in to her are now hanging on to the Gillard petticoats for dear life. Pathetic - not one of them showed any spine, or had the courage to speak out against her for the defence of their country against this series of failed policies and moreso this obnoxious and unecessary and ridiculous Carbon Dioxide tax. Patriots they are not! Sycophants and self-interested they are!

I say - those of us who truly love our country and know the deception, the falseness, and the manipulations and lies - we will NEVER forget!!

If we allow her to pull the wool over us with yet another "new" Julia act - then it is all of us who show no spine - and no fight!
