As the nation contemplates installing solar panels and inverters into our power grid, and the need/trend for new power stations wains , I reckon coldry, matmor and any other related proven commercially viable technologies, are more about the Govt gaining royalties from an ability to mine refine value add and export lignite based product in solid gaseous or liquid forms, to economies not so ''roof panel affluent''.

Many a pollie will talk up the latrobe resource as the next chapter in our mining boom economy. ( an export based mining economy )

If you/we/they could export raw lignite, it would have happened generations ago, but it's impossible

We all know,,, you can't ship lignite,,, it ignites.

That's where I see some of the big prizes up for grabs.

It doesn't mean brown fired coal power stations won't oversee the whole sheebang,,, after all,, they covert the lions share of the blue zone allocations,,, and they want in big time on the pay dirt.

Bottom line,,, where ever there are massive export royalties,, there's a good political argument for an enterprise.
