    I agree Gunnindi. I believe plantations established on ex pasture sites will have sequestered carbon that will realise C credits. It will be approximately a one-off as long as the estate is maintained in perpetuity. I also believe there may be some slight increase as metrics for measuring sequestered C in products made from those plantations are developed. For example, some proportion of the paper made from woodchips, particularly fine writing and graphic papers, ends up archived in files or books for many years.

    Most forestry companies have very good inventory systems. They hold infrmation that goes back many years. Wood volume assessment is very acurate. Those with certification (e.g. AFS) are already using those inventory systems to annually report stored carbon, so I don't think it will be a big hassle to get C credits confirmed and certified.
