Need to remember that the population of Tassie is about the same ascombining a couple of Melbourne suburbs. We wouldn't expect the good people of Boroondara or Kingston (say) to financially assist with high-risk geothermal drilling - same applies to Tasmania doing this.
We're talking about a Federal Govt responsibility - they have the resources - and responsibility is theirs but they lack the gumption to take this on - preferring to mess about with renewable energy certificates and other subsidies to mollify the brown greens with their photovoltaic cells and wind farms.
Traditional green greens are but a memory of the 1970's.
We will be saved by decisive action taken overseas and forced upon us from afar. Like all necessary actions postponed - the day of reckoning will come but will be more painful for the procrastination.
I "hold" in the hope that our business case will be sufficiently compelling to attract the interest of overseas business and/or NGO's.
