The absloute futility of Australia's carbon tax is highlighted today.
America has accelerated its use of gas for energy production, to the point where their vast reserves of cheap gas now provide more than 50% of their needs. That represents a massive greenhouse gas reduction.
Meanwhile, headlines here today highlight the skyrocketing cost of our pollution-reducing gas production, with some projects now heading for mothballing. Its just crazy, we have loads of gas that once was cheap but is now too expensve to produce.
There is definitely a fiscal cliff ahead of us. America is dealing with its problem, but we don't even admit we have a problem at all. We're a bunch of alcoholics feasting on borrowings.
