The ACT Govt. has been harvesting gas from its land fill sites for several years. The one at Hume produces enough electricity for 5000 homes and has a life of 20 years I think. A second site is being establish that was purpose built for harvesting gas.
Now if we could only harvest the gas produced by the Public Service.
