My prediction: the Carbon tax (duty, levy, impost, charge...however you want to describe it) will be shelved. Or if it does by miracle get up through the rigor of Parliament, it will be so watered down that we might as well not have it.
Labor will be defeated (easily) at the next election, and that is assuming the independants don't switch before hand.
I agree with the previous posts that the govt has a golden opportunity now as the tech has been proven to work. If Gillard is concerned about jobs, money should be thrown at CWE so that they have the capacity to undertake multiple projects which of course creates jobs. There is also the economic multiplier effect.
I am looking forward to the next 1 to 2 months as surely announcements will be made around reunion island. CWE have set themselves a 30 june milestone.
