An AGL door to door salesman, called in last week offering me 7% discount on electricity if we swapped from Country Energy to AGL. Also, (and I was aware of their solar deal), they would give me 68c per KWH for my solar production.
I didn't swap companies but phoned Country Energy, and then spoke to ORIGIN, who are the owners of CE, who then offered me 11% discount and 66c per KWH.
The thing is that their Service Availability charge goes from 66c per day up to 98c per day, so that is over 3 months, ~$98 without using any electricity.
And the Service Availability charge will be increasing from 1 July, as "the regulators allow for increase this time each year".
What a bunch of crooks, being allowed to prosper at the ordinary citizens' expense.
