    You reckon we all ought to move to Marble Bar - lol?

    Trying to drive up the Hume Highway for several hours in 43 to 45 degree heat with no airconditioning (broken) was quite taxing, and we had to stop in a slightly cooler roadhouse so my mother wouldn't conk out (she's 90). I barely made it driving across Melbourne for 45 minutes when the air conditioning broke and it was 47 C outside. So maybe I'm a wimp! I don't think I'd survive trying to drive in 57 C. (That same summer I had to put on a jumper when the temp dropped below 30C - lol)

    It looks like it's a sign of either bravado or poverty to not have air-conditioning in Phoenix (evap or otherwise), unless you live in an adobe house and stay cool:
