Its gotta be cheaper than the rest to succeed. The carbon tax if people are going to be better off has to be taken from somewhere. Those who pay will need to recoup losses. If they produce anything that we consume we will pay more. Wind turbine for example. They become price attractive when coal and gas and nuclear become more expensive. Who pays for the increase?? You and me. Simple market forces. Playing with incomine generating industry especially if input costs go up for these indutries and they try to sell OS they are up against lower priced product..They go broke.. I'd love the idea that REE companies are going to make a squillion on wind turbines. I am heavily invested in these. But I note unless everyone on earth sets alevel playing ground to fall on ones sword about CO2 is dangerous for Australia. Remember a tax is about taking generated wealth from someone. It only works if we can tax all foreigners living abroad.
