The question we all need to ask is "Are we polluting the atmosphere of this planet?". If you are uncertain, or if you believe we are not causing pollution, take a trip into the Northern Hemisphere, open your eyes and look around you.

Then ask yourself, "Is this pollution causing the change in climate we have experienced in one lifetime when past climate changes have taken thousands of years to develop?" You may not be absolutely certain of the answer but the balance of probabilities certainly points to it and in any case we can't afford to be wrong.

The last question. "What actions can the human race take to halt this potentially planet-destroying problem?".

No-one on this forum has come up with a sensible alternative to a Carbon Tax or Emission Trading Scheme. Just a whole lot of people banging on about Julia Gillard and the Labor Government. So she lied. She's a politician. How long have you been out of school? All politicians lie (Howard and the GST come to mind.) Get over it.

Of course the answer to the whole problem is, firstly, to halt population growth, and then to wind back the Earth's population to a sustainable number. Only one country is trying to address this. Our numbers have tripled in 60 years.

In a society where the charts must grow exponentially it is necessary for the consumers to do likewise. That is the problem.
