Thanks, woodpipe, for the comprehensive reply, and the local knowledge on the large plastic bags. It certainly does seem to go against the spirit of the ban. There seems something wrong with just charging for something that is banned- they used to give them away when they were not banned, and now charge for them when they are banned? It all seems a bit bootleg.
