In later life it's made me more ready to stand up to bullies, and protect the vulnerable. But really, that may matter little in the scheme of things. The real damage was done a long time ago to our childhood mates and there's little justice for them so far.

But if you went to a boarding school, like I did for some time, you will know how difficult it was (is?) to escape from bullies. You need to be extremely strong and/or ally yourself with a group.
