I agree Moreforme; G Pell is not on trial.

However, he is a very important WITNESS to those events that have
generated public interest to the point of materialising this Inquiry.
A point has been made of this importance by accommodating G.Pell's
wish to give evidence of his recollections from Rome, rather than to return to Australia.

It is disingenuous of his apologists to start now to deflect this importance to other,
"likely MUCH bigger issue..."; "in the wider secular community begin?".

It is Cardinal Pell that is in focus now and such deflections could/might be seen as shielding the perpetrators of these child abuse pasts.

The tide of such "shielding" is turning and the Victims will keep turning the screws on memories by witnesses such as Cardinal G.Pell.
