Our investment into Research & Development is focused on commercialising Professor Frazer’s next generation therapeutic vaccine for genital Herpes, caused by the HSV-2 virus, and is aimed at both preventing the spread of the virus and offering a treatment to those infected.
Professor Frazer, Australian of the Year in 2006, is also working in collaboration with our team to expand his success with Gardasil®, the preventative vaccine for cervical cancer, to develop a therapeutic vaccine for humans that will treat those with infections and cancers caused by Papillomavirus (HPV). Both Herpes and HPV are highly prevalent viruses.
