Would love to agree with you about the patient being driver, but that's not how it works in reality.
Most surgeons would only change the device/procedure/etc if there was a mountain of data. For example, a well respected Australian orthopod I know very well, wouldn't even consider the changing the type of knee replacement he used unless it was backed up by 10 years of clinical data.
Products like this need to be introduced into world class facilities where world class trainees are being taught to use it. It will be a long slow process but if the product is good and the results remain good it will happen.
I personally think it's a strong product from both my biomedical engineering perspective and medical practitioner perspective.
