That's the case elsewhere as well, not just the Aussie market. Why pay fair value when you can offer shareholders a quick 100% profit and get it substantially cheaper? No one wants to pay more than what another is willing to sell for, and people are present biased so they care more about immediate gratification than long term higher returns so they always accept it.
