In combination with an agent that causes single and double DNA strand breaks, Bisantrene has a 100% cure rate. I know it 1/1, but it's just fun to say.
Both Anthracyclines and Topoisomerase II inhibitors cause single and double DNA strand breaks.
The patients cancer type had translocation t(8;21), which has been shown to have higher levels of FTO and shorter Event-Free Survival. Maybe that is why this child relapsed so quickly, but responded so well to Bisantrene in combination with these drugs.
