Milk deliveries in Croydon, Vic. in the 60s was by horse and dray.
One of my fondest childhood memories was hearing the milkman whistle instructions to his Clydesdale.
e.g. stop, start or do a u-turn as he did in our street.
Keeping things on topic, the Milkman ran most of the way which was pretty good heart protection in those days...
