Candlestick analysis is great, I don't use it too much these days except for hot copper posts, and I only covered a tiny amount of it, so enjoy your journey into technical analysis.
Eventually you may also consider renko and point figure charts to compliment candlesticks, they are excellent, and give a very different and valuable perspective.
A solid grounding in price analysis is key, and I focus on price on the DYE thread. Volume analysis is also very useful, and there are some excellent technicians using volume analysis on hot copper, so I don't put up much on volume analysis. Everything in TA revolves around a solid understanding of price trending, price ranging and price pattern formation.
I will start a new DYE thread for those that are interested. For the moment I am focusing on DYE and AVB chart threads.
