Rumour has it that giant US private equity group Carlyle are behind Posco/Noble consortium.
The above is not confirmed but if it is confirmed may explain why the consortium has refused to divulge all members and their respective percentage in the venture.
It has been suggested that Carlyle would be after Moly-Cop cheap as it would be a good fit for them.
So is it the case that all along the idea is to get it cheap, break it up, Carlyle walk off with Moly-Cop and Posco/Noble and their Korean friends hang on to the IO mines, rail, steel works and port?
