watso watched both being interviewed last night (7.30 report). both sounded good. western australia, of course has been the beneficiary of the mineral boom, which might help the labs look good (a bit like the boom making the libs look good at the federal level under howard). watso does seem to think that the labs do have some good talent in the ministry - but gosh, they had that donkey called marlborouh (?) - who was a burke pawn. the good thing is, is that carpenter has done his best to get rid of the influence of burke- having kicked him out of the labor party, and also having got rid of any ministers that had been tainted by burke. guess though that burke could still be operating in the background, organizing fund raisers etc, which of course involves favours down the track

the libs, on the other hand, have crichton brown, who teams up with burke, to try and organize things (the unelected, who think that they can run the state). the libs have been nothing more than a rabble over the past few years, with several changes in the leadership etc etc. barnett is the man for the libs, watso has had barnett as a tutor, and a lecturer, and has been impressed by him. heh heh - watso has been classmates of two labor mp's who have held senior positions in government, and one of them was a very good friend of watso, while at university - but watso would probably not give them his vote (but then again, they are not his local member, so who cares). watso knows the name of his local lab mp, and he has probably done a good job - but that would not influence watso's vote. at the end of the day, it watso will try and work out who will do the best for west australia

gosh - will it be a government who is led by colin barnett, who i think is sincere, or will it be a government led by carpenter, who watso also thinks is sincere. the advantage for carpenter, is that watso thinks that he has some very capable ministers

watso is a swinging voter - and one minute thinks that carpenter is the man, and the next minute thinks that barnett is the man. the trouble for barnett could be, that watso cannot really see any good performers in the party - that could be the advantage of being in government

sorry - just watso rambling along on a saturday morning with a few things running through his mind.

heh heh - watso attitude is totally different in this state election, compared to the last federal election, where watso could only look for the end of the howard government. but watso is a swinging voter, and that is the way it is. watso's mother, as usual will be voting labor - she always does. watso's deceased father would also have voted labor - he always did
