Hi briter
I was not impressed with Carpenter in that interview situation; he was uncomfortable and lying through his teeth when queried why he had put forward the election date by 5 months. He eventually got a grip on himself, and gave the usual spiel. By contrast Barnett was well-spoken, had straightforward answers and was composed. The interviewer treated them both fairly.
I do think W.A. has got some good ministers, but I am still astonished at the selection of A.C. for Premier, particularly when I think of Kim Chance - he always came across as a senior statesmen-like figure, yet he never made it to the top. I guess it's not what you know but who you know!
The Bourke saga is put to rest for now; the clan have been firmly shown the door, but as usual, they'll be waiting by the back door, no matter who is in Government!
I have just spent some time checking through Barnett's speeches - well-thought out policies, well-informed with a huge knowledge in the resources and energy sector.
Cheers
