re: government decision not close at all the reason for so much caution by the minister is that he probably knows there's gonna be a bunfight whatever the outcome and he wants to make sure his ass is covered from all sides. Pollies only care about themselves and votes remember - ask yourself, what's the best political outcome for the minister/party in this debate - and that's probably where the decision falls.

I don't know enough about WA politics, but if you had a good handle on that you'd all probably be a lot closer to the solution.
