CARRICK Gold continues to extend mineralisation at its Lindsay's gold project in Western Australia, where further drilling has extended the resource north and returned "impressive" gold values up to 50.22 grams per tonne gold with mineralisation remaining open.

Drilling has extended the resource north of the Parrot Feathers deposit, where it targeted a high-grade vein set with results from four holes still outstanding.

"The geology from inspection of [reverse circulation] chips indicates very similar mineralisation and thickness," Carrick said.

One hole was drilled 40m past the previous northernmost hole and intersected good values of gold at the targeted depth in sediment, with the structure remaining open to the north where the company plans to drill a further 80m to the north.

Results from the hole include 6m at 34.42gpt gold from 140m including 4m at 50.22gpt gold from 142m.

Carrick expects to significantly increase its total resource of 28.38 million tonnes for 2.25 million gold ounces.
