Colin, My info could be out of date but the last I heard back when GE was MD was that Mapawa was never going to take off. It is too far away for the project to absorb the cost of transport at the grades it can produce and not big enough to support its own process plant or beneficiation facility. The early ore from Mapawa that was processed was a large pile of bulk sample ore that was left over and it was used for commissioning simply because it was the only ore available.

Maybe more recent exploration has changed things and if so then this would be ideal as supplementary feed for an UG operation to fill the mills.
