You need to do at least 100,000 kms a year to save on gas by the way. Not to forget that your servicing charges will rise due to the nature of gas driven vehicles and the impact on the engine.
Depending on your vehicle it be worth less with gas equipped anyway so if you want to save money on petrol simply update your vehicle more regularly. The best time to change of your vehicle is 3 years and before it hits 100,000 kms.
