Surely the reason for the out of court review process between Cougar and the QLD govt is to come to an amicable agreement that will appease both parties and protect the reputations of the accused and the Govt itself.

I have no doubt that there will be a compensation payment of some sort to Cougar as a result of this process.

It will be enough for Cougar to be happy, the shareholders will be happy, the govt and the accused are deemed to be not guilty as a result of the well worded statement that will follow.

Everybody wins and this just gets swept under the carpet.

It will be a situation like this.....

"Dear Cougar. Please take these millions of dollars we are offering (not $31M+ that it cost to set up Kingaroy, but around $5-10M) and please don't pursue it any further as even though we know you have a strong water tight case we will make the process draws out for years and years until you run out of money and cannot afford to continue, leaving your company and shareholders with nothing. regards the Qld Govt"
