my limited but direct experience is that the justice will determine timeframes based on his experience
the respondent is the federal government so they cant claim any concessions due to lack of experience or resources
on what basis could they ask for an adjournment ?
the federal government is supposed to be model litigants
barristers and solicitors are officers of the court
they have professional responsibilities
labor had planned 12 April election
cyclone changed that to May
i assume labor thought they had pushed a decision past the election
