Hey traydor, I am not sure about chlorine content. I read that the Direct nickel utilise it's patented technology uses nitric acid to dissolve the metals in the laterite ore so they can be extracted separately, rather than sulfuric acid. Although nitric acid is more expensive to buy, the company says it can recycle almost all of it and capture noxious gases, keeping costs well below the industry average process.
