Its not the government?? The CB is the government, it is funded by the government, the head staff are appointed by the government. The treasurer was seen standing over the head of the RBA on national television and the head of the RBA backfliped 180deg on his estimate of the economy in a couple of days. Oh yeah nothing to see here and the government does not control the RBA at all, no no no no no........... yes they do. Dont let me change your mind if it keeps you off the balcony please feel free to think the RBA is independent, APRA is funded and staffed by bankers who float in and out of the executive ranks, the ACCC is independent but funded by the government and the US FED IS a government CB.
