the issue is how they manage their kingfish.
If they pull them all out of the water at the same time they will get a lower price but dont have to feed them. the converse is true of course.
so they need to manage the kingfish business separately to the tuna i think, and try to keep the kingfish cashflow neutral or positive.
the question then is, how much cash do they need to run the tuna operation and my gut feel is a lot more than they have.
if they are successful, and put 25,000 fingerlings in the water, these should grow what, 3kg in the first year, at an Food conversion ratio of what, say 5 times, at a food cost of how much? say $1,500 per tonne?
so for food alone, 25,000*3*5*$1,500 comes to around $5.6M plus staff, they could do it without coming back to the market
