    Cash Converters buys UK stores

    Cash Converters International Ltd has made a 1.9 million ($A3.28 million) purchase of four franchised stores in the northern UK towns of Halifax, Keighley, Dewsbury and Scunthorpe.

    The company said that the acquisitions should increase the Companys earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) by about 400,000 in their first full year of ownership.

    The four stores were purchased from existing franchisees for a the total price of 1.9 million, which included assets of 550,000.

    The company said that the acquisition price represents an EBIT multiple of 4.7 times.

    Cash Converters also opened two new corporate stores in the UK in June - one in Hull and another in Accrington.

    The company now owns a total of 59 stores, with 27 in Australia and 32 in the United Kingdom.
