I have got to admit that I had assumed that I had assumed that the ore at the bottom of the pit was being brought up to use in salting the ore from the stock pile,
If its just a rumour without any real substantiation then I would tend to discount it. They have been mining that pit form many years and I find it hard to believe that they stuffed it so badly right at the end. Possible I suppose.
