Dev356 you say that Starlink wouldn't use the Netlinkz VSN software as if you definitely know, but isn't that what the deal is about about and why Netlinkz was selected as a re-seller? Perhaps it was a secondary factor, but it may have been the sole factor as it would have been briefed in confidence about which companies use it and since they include several household names in the US, Europe and China presumably that may have been a factor.
It is not as if Netlinkz is an obvious choice otherwise. NET might have a staff of 100 plus in China, but no distribution division in Australia other than South Cloud and that is fairly small.as a regional ISP while Vocus is well established as the amalgamation of about a dozen ISP businesses, optic fibre of its own and the backing of a big super fund and the mighty Macquarie. But perhaps that was the problem: it is a complicated group and perhaps not best suited to a quick sales campaign. I have no idea of what guided selection, but given the facts as we have them there are some assumptions that have a logical basis and others that don't.
Perhaps also check with the company as you may have strayed into defamation territory unintentionally by implying that NET is mispresenting the software's security credentials. Fortunately you said that all software companies can't be trusted. It's hard to defame a class of people or companies so you are fairly safe there, but all the same it's a pretty broad slur.
Also you seem unaware that Netlinkz itself has an internal company which is a little like Signals Directorate as it advises telcos and government agencies about cyber threats and cyber protection methodology. Like all cyber services it is doing well at the moment. I gather it markets the VSN to local utilities, but it seems to be down-played as a semi-covert or at least discrete operator. Some will find its existence reassuring in what has been a pretty torrid and lumpy market. At the very least it means NET is not just selling cyber locks, but also has a team which knows how safecrackers work.
