People are people no matter where they live. Many younger people here pay or top up their mobile phone bills before food, school or rent is paid. The "recurring revenues" data which already is out plus the growth rate which has shown no sign of slowing down. China Mobile mentioned above has about 806 million subscribers. SMA has currently tapped a tiny but rapidly growing proportion of these and other users of the SMA payment platform. I can live with out my phone. My kids cannot.
