I myself have worked out at mt gordon, i have had family work out there at times since 1980's.

HAd a great time out there, hard work but great people (on the floor)

The cost of production was very high, the tailings dam leaks like a sieve. Underground at mamoth was a bit dodgy, the open pit produced some excellent ore, it was the richest cooper pit in the world at one stage.

At the time the owners werent that versed on mining, infact at one stage they asked us to filter press the tailings for export, hmmmm.

Mt Isa businesses had them on cash only as they rarely payed there bills anywhere near on time. What did that contractor fella say about our old mates at the games.

The above is only a view of one person, i had no axe to grind with them, and things do change.
