700m "non-cash" w/offs .........
ummm to value a bit of dirt .....you either spend CASH on it (drill holes, = capitalised expl spend)......OR get someone else to SPEND cash on it (farm-out and carrying value of JV assets)..........
either way - in past periods - the CASH HAS BEEN spent .........
for BPT to "improve" they need to "reduce the amout of capital required to generate the same prod/sales/ebitda" - ROCE......or acquire vastly undervalued assets .......
