OPT can apply for an Overseas Finding in order to claim overseas expenditure under the R&D Tax Incentive. This would be approved if they can prove that part / all of the clinical trials can't be conducted in Australia and can only be conducted OS (e.g. Australia doesn't have a sufficient number of the type of patients they need to test under the trial).
