perhaps the business will be sold to a larger organisation which can incorporate it into their existing operation. There would be some hope for employees there. That seems the most likely scenario, if there is any rescue at all.

It all comes down to sales. They were not able to generate enough, and a new owner would be in the same position. A bigger organisation might be able do something with the technology.
